Cookies! Paradise Bakery vs. Santa Fe
Is there anyone out there strong enough to turn down a delicious freshly baked cookie? I am definitely not that person, in fact I consider myself somewhat of a cookie connoisseur, making it my duty to try the cookies wherever I am dining out. There are many places selling tasty cookies downtown Denver, but without a doubt the top two contenders are Paradise Bakery and Santa Fe Cookie Company.
Sure everyone knows Paradise with its prominent location in the middle of the 16th Street Mall, but what’s this Santa Fe Cookie Company all about and where is it? It’s actually on the 16th Street Mall (and Court) as well but well hidden downstairs in a plaza area. The storefront sure doesn’t look like much either, and when you walk in there isn’t anyone who will wait on you. Nope, you get out $1 bill, put it in the jar and pick up a bag of 3 hot out of the oven cookies - there are many varieties to choose from. And you can’t find a better deal than $1!
Another tip - get to Paradise later in the afternoon and get your cookies cheaper! Plus you can also buy 2 and get 1 free, which will cost just over $2.
As for which is the tastiest? That is a decision that you have to make for yourself. I haven’t been able to choose, some days are Paradise days and others are Santa Fe days. Either way it’s a heavenly escape from the day…just be sure to get in a great workout later!
